Victoria ‘Vicki’ Igbokwe

Vicki began her formal training at Hammersmith & West London College, studying a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts. On completing this course she went on to Middlesex University where she graduated with a BA (HONS) Degree in Dance Studies. It was here that she discovered her passion for dance and choreography.

In 2001 Vicki auditioned and was successful in gaining a place as a dancer for Impact Dance (www.impactdance.co.uk) a professional Hip Hop Theatre company. During her time with Impact Dance she took on many roles including Dancer, choreographer and Youth Artistic Director.

Vicki is a Creative Projects Manager (CPM) for East London Dance (www.eastlondondance.org). She joined the Nike UK Team (www.nikewomen.com) in 2005 as a Nike Dance Athlete and Master Trainer for the Nike Rockstar Workout, a dance based fitness workout. Since 2005, Vicki has appeared in numerous publications including Health and Fitness magazine, Cosmo Girl, Fitness Professionals, The Telegraph, The Dancing Times and was a featured Athlete as part of Nike’s ‘Changing The Game of Women’s Sport’ exhibition at the blink Gallery in central London, which celebrated the profile of some of the country’s finest sports women. August ’07 saw her as a judge for the Nike Dance Clash weekend and call back auditions.

She has choreographed work for Impact Dance, East London Dance, Nike UK, EMI Records and D-physics with her work being performed at venues such as Sadler’s Wells, Stratford Circus, The Royal Festival Hall, the Peacock Theatre, Channel 4, BBC1 & 2 and Pop World. Vicki’s choreographic skills have enabled her to work in a diverse way across the dance industry creating and staging pieces in a commercial and theatrical context.

Vicki is also a founder member of the choreographic collective D-physics (www.myspace.com/dphysics) and a Jazz teacher at Middlesex University.

2008 has already got off to a great start for her as she is an ADAD (Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (www.adad.org.uk) Trailblazer 07-08. Her project will see her traveling to New York to train with House Dance Pioneers Brian Green, Ejoe Wilson and Marjory Smarth. On her return she will work on creating a new dance production that will be ready for touring in 2009.

Ifeyinwa Aniebo

Ify Aniebo is currently a PhD student at the University of Oxford. She has a first degree in Medical Genetics from Queen Mary’s University, a MSc in Applied Bimolecular Technology from Nottingham University and has a scholarship from the Prince’s Trust. King Onyeama of Eke

The King of Agbaja, Onyeama n’Eke was the greatest king in northern Igboland. He was probably the greatest Igbo king in living memory. From his palace in Eke, Onyeama reigned over the entire Agbaja, from Oji River though Udi and Ezeagu to the present-day political capital of Igboland, Enugu, and even Nkanu and Ogui communities. Onyeama was born circa 1870s, the youngest of the ten children of Özö Omulu Onwusi, a polygamous titled man of means, and an only son of his mother – Chinazungwa Ijeonyeabo of nearby Ebe community. Brought up by his half-brother, Amadiezeoha Nwankwo-Onwusi, Onyeama worked hard and made his mark in business. He traveled to famous Aro-controlled trading centers including Abiriba, Arochukwu, Arondizuogu, Bende, Oguta, Uburu, etc. When British rule reached Eke in 1908, Onyeama was rich enough to buy his way into the Ozo title society and to marry a local beauty, Afia Nwirediagu, and later Gwachi Ebue. Amarachi Attamah

Amarachi Attamah is an award-winning Chant Performance Artist, Performance Poet, Broadcaster, Festival Manager, Creative Entrepreneur and a strong passionate voice in the sustainability of the Igbo language. She has a Master’s in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria and trained as a festival manager with the British Council.
