Blossom’s superlative understanding of the new media landscape, digital media culture and corporate communication have increasingly distinguished her as she diligently works to provide advisory and technical support on media and strategic communication to the office of the Honorable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources and Board Chairman, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. This has recently earned her various commendations from the Group Learning Department of NNPC (May, 2016) and the Group Human Resources Division of NNPC (August, 2016). The latter conveyed recognition of her outstanding performance and contributions to the process improvement in the Group Managing Director’s Office where she worked as the Technical Assistant to the Group Managing Director on Special Projects (New Media).

Blossom’s consistent quest for success and outstanding performance can be traced back to her graduating as the overall best female graduating student of the Fundamental Skills Training Program Class of 2008 few months after joining the Corporation as a Graduate Trainee. In recognition of her forte for leadership and excellence in public service, the United States Government in 2012 nominated her to participate in the State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program which lasted for 6 weeks in various Cities in the United States of America. A few months before Roseblossom was redeployed to work as the Technical Assistant to the Group Managing Director on Special Projects (New Media), she initiated processes to ensure that the Corporation embraces a new media culture in the holistic corporate-wide communication strategy. She employed her vast network to attract the top management of Facebook to train staff of the Group Public Affairs Department at zero cost, on best practices thereby saving the Corporation thousands of forex expenses.

She has provided high level direction for stakeholder engagement and public enlightenment for the Corporation notably in communicating the advantages of the liberalization of the downstream sector with the introduction of the new framework for petroleum products supply, distribution and pricing by the Federal Government. This process led to a monthly savings of 15.4 Billion Naira for the Corporation and the Federal Government. In a related development, she provided the strategic communication direction that has led to improved investor confidence for the Corporation with the NNPC-China investor roadshow held in June, 2016 that resulted in the signing of 80 Billion Dollars for the Corporation. Subsequently, she has worked tirelessly to provide a clear and holistic media direction in ensuring that the perception and sentiment score for the Organization is greatly improved especially on digital media platforms. This led to improved confidence by investors and stakeholders in NNPC and has greatly reduced the perception that the Corporation in opaque and deeply steeped in corruption.
She co-founded Digital Media Development Initiative, a non-profit that contributes to the sustainable development of Nigeria’s individuals and organizations through the innovative use of digital media. She has gone further to shape a career path that allows her to express her passion and consequently, work has become a playground for her. She is professionally certified to practice in the media, branding and communication space by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

This was wrapped up in February, 2018. The success of the project so far has led to a more structured development to build the Igbo Wikimedians User Group. This is a community of Wikimedia project editors that are committed to working on various wiki projects related to Igbo language and culture. The group is open to collaborations with other organizations to promote Igbo language. It is an open membership group available to anyone that is literate in Igbo language at any level.
